Diiva accesses Internet newsgroups, one of the most under-hyped Internet services. Newsgroups are a way for anyone to post virtually anything they want, and get it distributed worldwide. Most of the articles in newsgroups are textual in nature, but tens of thousands of articles every day contain encoded pictures. Diiva isn't a typical newsreader, because it doesn't deal with the text side of newsgroups at all. For images, however, Diiva is by far the best solution, since it was designed from the ground up to quickly and easily download, decode, view, and archive the pictures in newsgroups while shielding you from their cumbersome, text-based nature. |
